Clearing 2 lanes in one pass by 1 truck and 1 operator
Clearing 2 lanes in one passby 1 truck and 1 operator
TowPLows are being used to clear:
  • Urban multi lane expressways and interstates.
  • Congested urban areas with left turn lanes, islands and commercial entrances.
  • Rural high speed divided highways.
  • Climbing lanes as the truck plows the first pass through the area.
  • Alternating passing lane routes, eliminating the need for a second truck.
  • Rural shoulders, steering around mailboxes and guardrail.

TowPLow trucks are now clearing rural, divided highways by using a 2 or 3 pass process instead of the normal practice of making 4 to 5 passes.

Safe plowing speeds are dependant upon pavement conditions, cross section, profile grades, surface conditions and equipment capability. Safe speeds and caution must be used at all times in snow removal operations.

The practice of using TowPLows on rural highways can save agencies over 30% in labor and fuel, while improving services. Thus, a TowPLow can pay for itself in less than 2 to 5 years, if properly implemented. Go to "User report/papers for documents".
